SOUTH KENSINGTON

Two modern penthouse apartments were commissioned for the rooftop of a 19th-century mansion block in South Kensington, London. Initially planned as stark white boxes, George Morgan was asked to bring the historic nature of the Victorian buildings surrounding the apartments to the interiors.

Replacing sheet glass with Crittall doors, Morgan brought in dark-bronze door handles, light switches and sockets, and 19th-century replica mouldings. All bathroom fittings were also in traditional 19th-century English style.
